SOhopeful International is a not-for-profit corporation. Our mission is accomplished through international, national and state departments staffed by our members. Each international and national department is headed by a Director. Below are brief descriptions of our departments with links to their respective pages.

Legal Affairs
The Legal Affairs Department is the powerhouse of our organization. New, pending and existing pertinent legislation is tracked by this committee. Members in this department help us to research legislation, catalog it for future action, and collaborate on legislative action items.

Research & Education
The Research & Education Department is the information arm of our organization. Long-term communications materials are produced through this department. Members in this department help us to research and catalog the latest reports, studies and information on issues pertaining to our cause. This department produces both external and internal educational materials.

Communications
The Communications Department is the mouthpiece of our organization. Members in this department help us articulate our positions on issues or legislation to the media, public and government, via letters, printed literature and on the Internet.

Finance
Members in this department help us obtain the funds necessary to keep our organization running! All donations, events, fundraising drives for SOhopeful International go through this department. Also, members in this department plan and organize speaking engagements, conventions, conferences and contests.
