The Finance Department is central to our organization. All donations, events, fundraising drives for SOhopeful International go through this department.

This department is such a crucial part of our organization. Members in this department help us obtain and manage the funds necessary to keep our organization running!

Finance does the following:

• Handles all accounting and financial aspects of our organization,
• Direct solicitation,
• Plans and implements fundraising drives [events, contests, etc.],
• Researches funding sources and opportunities,
• Obtains grants,
• Tracks & recognizes our donors, sponsors and patrons,
• Promotion and sale of our products (put out by Research & Education),
• Organize and run contests within the organization,
• Organize special events [yearly State Rep convention, state conferences, etc.], and
• Schedules speaking engagements [seminars] to other organizations, associations, government bodies.

In addition, this department works closely with the , Research & Education, and Communications Departments. Once a fundraising drive or event is approved, Communications sends out the Notice of Drive or Event to the State Reps. From there our members are called upon to participate in that to have the best outcome and raise the greatest amount of funds.

If you have finance, fundraising, event planning, networking, and/or people skills (even if you don't!) please consider joining this department. Our members and Directors will assist you in accomplishing any tasks you accept.
