My
name is Tanya and I live in Florida. My husband, Gordon, is currently serving
a 15 year sentence for 1 count of L&L on a minor under the age of 12, offender
over the age of 21. He was sentenced illegally here. According to my sources,
he should not have been sentenced to 15 years. He had been in prison previously,
however, this was his very first sex offense. Plus, he had been out of prison
for almost 13 years without even a traffic ticket. His "public defender" did nothing
to help him in any way. Which really does not surprise me.
To make matters
worse, the victim in the case is my daughter (his step-daughter) and I am the
person that turned my husband in. This was not intentional. I went to my counselor
to get psychiatric help for my husband not knowing that she was legally bound
to turn him into the police.
I have become very active in finding out
everything I can about the rights of RSO's in this state. I have started a support
group on EZBoard.com called Love Regardless
that is for the family members of RSO's.
